At True Contour Medical, we guide you through every step of your cosmetic procedure to ensure you feel confident and informed. Here's an overview of how our cosmetic procedures work:

Consultation With DrG

First, we'll meet to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns you might have. I'll evaluate your areas of concern and create a personalized treatment plan just for you.

Preparation for Procedure

To get you ready for your procedure, we'll provide you with some pre-operative instructions. This will include dietary guidelines and medications to avoid. You might need lab tests or a medical evaluation to make sure you're all set for surgery.

Selecting Anesthesia

Depending on what we're doing and your comfort level, we'll decide together whether to use local anesthesia with sedation (awake lipo) or general anesthesia.

Marking and Preparation

We'll mark your body’s treatment areas while you're standing, so we get everything just right. Then, we'll clean and sterilize the area to prepare for the procedure.

Tumescent Solution Injection

We'll inject a solution into the treatment area to numb it, reduce bleeding, and make fat removal easier.

Fat Removal

Finally, we'll make small incisions and use a cannula to break up and suction out the fat cells.

Post-Operative Instructions For Cosmetic Treatments

  • Initial Rest: Rest in a 45-degree inclined position for 4-6 hours, then continue to rest for an additional 12 hours.
  • Hydration and Nutrition: Eat a good meal and stay hydrated.
  • Showering: After 24 hours, take a warm shower to help drain excess fluid. Continue to shower as needed to aid drainage.
  • Activity: Walk for at least 1 hour daily to help with healing and reduce swelling.
  • Compression Garment: Wear your compression garment 23 hours a day for the first 2 weeks, then 22 hours a day for the next 10 weeks. This helps with healing and reducing swelling.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Massages: Attend 2 scheduled massages with our Massage Therapist within the first week, and gently massage the treated areas at home 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes each session for the first 2-4 weeks.

Do You Have Questions?

DrG Has Answers!

In Arizona, the maximum amount of fat that can be removed per liposuction procedure is 5 liters. This depends on your lab values and body size. If more fat needs to be removed, it may require two or three additional procedures.

The timeline for seeing results depends on the specific body treatment and how many areas are treated. By following our post-surgery recommendations (staying hydrated, lymphatic massages, compression), you should see optimal results in 3 to 6 months. Everyone is different, so you may see results sooner or it may take a bit longer.

You can usually shower the next morning. So if you do not feel lightheaded after 24 hours, you will be able to take a warm shower. This not only feels good but also helps drain excess fluid from the entry sites. Use your hands to gently massage the fluid out.

There is some discomfort. We use a high concentration of tumescent lidocaine solution to numb the areas of your body. We also provide oral sedation along with the tumescent lidocaine solution. Many patients find the discomfort minimal and stay engaged with their phones, texting, on social media, or even watching a movie. Some patients even fall asleep. DrG and his team will be with you the entire time to ensure your comfort.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a great adjunctive treatment for liposuction. It increases blood flow, stimulates new blood vessel growth, protects the body from bacteria and infections, stimulates the immune system, and decreases swelling and inflammation.

Yes, it can. We usually recommend waiting for 6 months before resuming a keto diet if you had liposuction or a fat transfer.
