Next, we apply a tumescent solution to numb the area to ensure a completely pain-free experience. You’ll be awake the entire time, but totally comfortable.
Once the area is numb, we make a tiny 2mm incision, usually tucked under the chin. Through this small entry point, we insert a slim cannula to gently break up and remove the fat. The procedure itself is quick and usually takes around one hour.
After that, recovery begins right away. You’ll wear a soft, supportive chin strap for the first 48 hours to reduce swelling and help everything heal in place. This is a great advantage, because you can have the procedure done on a Friday and be back at work by Monday.
